Chris Story is a prime example of a versatile warrior with a career that spans over 25 years in the security field with many lessons learned along the way. From operating in high-risk environments to teaching in the classroom, Chris talks about career pivots, psychological transitions, and personal development for the next generation of security professionals.
As far as professions go, Chris rarely suffers a dull moment. He started his career in the U.S. Army as a counterintelligence agent who transitioned into the ranger regiment and later to a leadership position serving in a military intelligence battalion. After 14 years in the military, he pivoted to the private protection industry, working for Blackwater and various other executive and corporate security services. He has developed high-net-worth, corporate, and government protective and security operations program using risk-based intelligence driven protection strategies and cutting-edge technologies.
In addition to strengthening the security posture of organizations, Chris has a passion for educating the next generation of private protection specialists. He has launched an array of executive protection, surveillance detection, and high-risk protection courses for U.S. government agencies, militaries, law enforcement, and civilians and has instructed executive protection, covert protection, surveillance detection, high-risk protection, firearms, and more for some of the top schools in the nation.
Whether it’s his role in the military or executive protection, Chris Story never loses sight of the mission.
